A Disciple

Join us Sunday for our last sermon of the series, contend. We are looking at contending as a disciple of Jesus. A disciple is someone who learns to become like the one they are learning from. The symbol of a disciple is one who follows the way of the cross. The meaning of the cross of Christ in human experience is that it stops any mere “I want to” from functioning as an adequate reason for action. The cross is therefore central to the moral life of humanity. We must contend in a world of death, by the power of the holy spirit in Jesus’ abundant spiritual life.
