Talk on Generosity

Generosity isn't just about money. It's about time, talent, energy, and words — every resource you have.

Out of 2 Corinthians 9 and the story of Jesus in Mark 7, we land on a reframe: your interruptions are your assignments. Jesus, exhausted in Tyre, stops for a Gentile woman begging for her daughter's healing. He doesn't give from leftovers. He trusts the Father as the source.

Here's the question that changes everything. It's not "How much of mine should I give?" It's "How much of God's am I keeping?"

Busyness becomes a wall — keeping people at arm's length while God is putting real people right in front of you. The widow's mite reminds us that generosity isn't measured by amount but by the heart behind it. And words — the cheapest gift to give, the most expensive one to withhold. Words create worlds.

All of it rests on Christ's generosity toward us. He gave his time through interruptions, his riches by becoming poor, his energy until he was poured out on the cross, and his words — words that spoke us into existence and will one day welcome us home.
